Development Policy and Practice: A Case Study of the Transition of
Pittsburgh’s African Americans (pdf file) This study examines the historical, economic, and cultural development of African Americans in Pittsburgh, assesses the contributions presently made by philanthropic foundations and community development organizations, and to explore the potential opportunities that could be made available to African American in the evolving advanced-technology industry. Results indicate that while significant advancements have been made, disparities remain for African-Americans in employment opportunities, funding availability and overall quality of life. |
