MEETING MINUTES

Los Angeles, California
2002

2002 Post-Los Angeles meeting report
prepared by Chair Donald Dahmann, in lieu of regular minutes

I am just returned home from the AAG meetings after an 8-day family geographic expedition to discover Southern California (great time!).

1) A 40-foot printed version of the GEOGRAPHY IN AMERICA TIMELINE was prominently displayed on a curved wall outside the exhibit hall. It attracted quite a bit of attention and a few explicit contributions. Announcements soliciting contributions were made at meetings of department and specialty group chairs. At a minimum, I believe we can say that the project is launched.

2) I was the only person that attended the business meeting of our specialty group, at least through the fifteen minutes I remained in the room following the appointed hour of 7:00 p.m. on Friday evening—agenda ready, fresh copies of the newsletter in hand, thanks to Jodi Vender, news items from specialty group chair’s meeting, etc.
