Ph.D. Student Shaunna Barnhart was featured on the AccuWeather.com program where she addressed questions regarding Nepalese families using biogas as a source of fuel.

Alumnus Featured on National Public Radio
Dr. Richard Ormrod (Ph.D. 1974) was a representative of People to People International while traveling in Rwanda and was featured on a recent NPR story about the Rwandan gorilla population.

SWIG won the University's Outstanding Student Organization of the Year Award, awarded to organizations that demonstrate excellence throughout the year.


Dr. Lakshman Yapa Awarded Northeast Region's 2008 McGrath/Kellog Engaged Scholarship Award
The award, which recognizes Dr. Yapa for his work with "Rethinking Urban Poverty: The Philadelphia Field Project", qualifies him for the national award.
