Geography APG gets greenlight from GEMS
The GEMS Board of Directors has formally approved the formation of a new Department of Geography Affiliate Program Group (APG) that will work closely with the Department of Geography. Director of Alumni Relations for the College of Earth and Mineral Sciences Colleen Swetland will be a standing member of this group, and as such, attend meetings and events to make sure that their mission and goals are in line with the department, College, and Penn State Alumni Association. GEMS looks forward to working with these volunteers on joint programming and planning.
The group will met on July 14, 2012
Dear Alumni of the Department of
Geography,
I’m pleased to be able to invite
you to a gathering of the NEW Geography alumni-led APG
(Affiliate Program Group) following this year’s Arts Fest. The
gathering is to be held July 14 at 11:00 a.m. in 319 Walker
Building. For those of you involved in college alumni events
please note the Geography gathering is scheduled to begin
immediately following the GEMS breakfast so as to dovetail with
your other activities.
Please see http://www.geog.psu.edu/news/events/geography-apg-meet.
Along with a number of your
alumni colleagues who have been the driving force in the APG the
department is actively committed and supportive of this group
and its activities. We look forward to this APG thriving and to
its becoming an important part of the PSU Geography community.
Please join us.
With best regards, wishes for a
happy July Fourth in advance, and hopes of your being
able to join the Geography APG on July 14.
Yours for geography,
Karl Zimmerer
