The UnderDoGS at Penn State are a group of undergraduates in the Department of Geography. The UnderDoGS represent the commitment of the students in the Department of Geography to not only excel in their studies, but also to contribute to their fellow students and to society.

According to President Aaron Dennis, currently a junior majoring in geography, the group’s mission is to provide opportunities for undergraduates to explore the field, meet people both in the department and at other institutions, and attend different geography conferences.

“It’s basically a forum for undergrads to interact in ways they might not get to do on their own,” Dennis said. He got involved his sophomore year after hearing about the annual American Association of Geographers (AAG) conference. “The experience of going to AAG is valuable, and I wanted to make sure this year’s trip goes well,” he said.
