Project and position description

This project entails creating two maps for a journal article that comprises part of the researcher’s master’s thesis requirements. Maps need to be simple, black and white, with few details other than location, based on data collected from 6 villages within the Nicaraguan municipality of El Cua and department of Jinotega. Maps needed to depict the area in relation to the country, and then zoomed in area of the villages, including roads and approximate location of 30 farms. A first draft is needed by 2/5/2017 and final draft no later than 03/15/2017.

Desired qualifications

Candidates should have successfully completed GEOG 361 and be able to compose maps with accurate scale, appropriate hierarchies, and be easy to interpret. The successful candidate must be able to brainstorm creatively with the researcher and go through multiple iterations of maps to work toward best options.
