Introduction

I am a first-year MS student in the Geography Department at Penn State University, University Park. I have a BS in Ecology & Natural Resources from Rutgers University. After graduating in 2013, I served over two years in the Peace Corps working as an environmental conservation educator and consultant in the Atlantic Forest region of southern Paraguay. Following the Peace Corps, I worked in program support for the US EPA’s Office of Pollution Prevention & Toxics in Washington, D.C.

My research interests include human natural resource and land use impacts, community-based conservation, and sustainable development. I plan to focus my thesis research on conservation challenges in Latin America working with communities to develop integrated strategies for conservation of both biodiversity and human livelihood.
