Donna Peuquet

Donna J. Peuquet

My research interests are in the areas of geographic knowledge representation, knowledge discovery, spatio-temporal data models, spatial cognition, AI approaches to knowledge representation, geocomputation, and GIS design.

Since the early 1990's, I have been involved in various projects involved in the representation of time and temporal dynamics in spatial databases, as well as analysis of spatial dynamics. See www.geovista.psu.edu/grants/apoala/index.htm for some of this work. My recently published book, Representations of Space and Time, tries to develop an integrated perspective, from philosophical to technical issues.

I have recently begun research on the environmental impacts on disease, in cooperation with epidemiologists at Penn State, Hershey.

In another vein, I am also active in the University Consortium of Geographic Information Science (UCGIS) as a member of the Model Curricula Task Force.
