Undergrad Usability Testing Results

Thank you for agreeing to help us optimize the user experience for our undergraduate web pages.  Your report of your experiences while completing three simple tasks and your additional comments and suggestions will help us make the website easier to use and more responsive to student needs.

Time commitment: 15 to 20 minutes

Deadline: June 10, 2014

Once you have completed the three tasks, enter your description into the fields below.  It may work best to have two browser windows or tabs open as you are doing this; one window or tab with this form and a second one with home page (www.geog.psu.edu) from which you will begin all the tasks.

Thanks again for your help in making our website more useful to students!

Start from the homepage: www.geog.psu.edu. List the path (pages) you took to find this information. Was it intuitive or confusing? Were you able to find the information? Once you found it, was it clear to you what to do or would you need to ask for help? Are you feeling frustrated? Be as descriptive as possible.

What should be the top priorities for content on the website? Is it doing a good job meeting those priorities now? If not, how can it be improved?
Name the device you prefer to use to access the website: laptop computer, tablet, phone. How does it work on your preferred device?
Imagine that the website could be designed to meet your needs exactly. What would it be like? What could you do with it?
