CLIM

The Climate Impacts Research (CLIM) Lab supports research in climate variations and change, human impacts on climate, synoptic climatology, and climate field instrumentation. This is achieved through faculty-directed graduate student research using the latest on-line observational, "reanalysis," and satellite datasets, as well as undergraduate research in climate courses and independent studies.  Current active research topics include: Midwest U.S. land use/land cover impacts on convective precipitation from tall towers and drones; Impacts of Arctic sea ice decline on middle-latitude circulation climate anomalies and recent changes; and Aviation contrail impacts on precipitation for the conterminous U.S.
