Wilbur Zelinsky: Teacher, Scholar, Friend

Professor Emeritus Wilbur Zelinsky passed peacefully at his State College home on Saturday, May 4, 2013, surrounded by family after a short illness. He was 91.

Wilbur was for decades a leading figure in Geography at Penn State and the discipline, as well as in various interdisciplinary circles of research and scholarship. Wilbur's contributions were sustained and prolific. As many of you know Wilbur was wonderfully active until recently. His presence at the Coffee Hour and his productive engagements with the Department are legendary and will not be forgotten. We invite you to share your remembrances of Wilbur via the webform below.


Memorial service scheduled

Anyone wishing to join in a celebration of the life of this remarkable man is cordially invited to a memorial service and reception to be held 10 a.m. Saturday, October 26, 2013, at Penn State’s Pasquerilla Spiritual Center. Go to main news story.
