Growing up in a tropical country, I developed an interest in the expansion of civilization that change the physical landscape from forest to built environment. I will work with Professor Guido Cervone at Penn State to further analyze how climate and physical landscape affect the urban expansion using machine learning and remote sensing. I seek to understand how climate, social condition, and policy decision change the environment so that we can mitigate and learn to adapt with environmental hazard and promote sustainable lifestyle.
I have a background in urban and regional planning from Bandung Institute of Technology (B.Sc) and University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (MUP). My research surrounds the area of environmental planning in cities such as: blue carbon spatial policy, agriculture relationship with climate change, and renewable energy policy. Prior to joining Penn State, I have worked with several government agencies in Indonesia such as the Ministry of Planning and Development and Ministry of Agrarian and Affairs and Spatial Planning.
