Description

Sywig Day is conducted by Supporting Women in Geography (SWIG).

SWIG works to promote women’s participation, service, and success in the discipline of geography. SWIG's annual Supporting Young Women in Geography (SYWIG) Day invites local area middle school girls to the Penn State campus for a day to participate in interactive workshops teaching about areas of geography such as cartography, human-environment interactions, and global environmental change. The event provides a unique opportunity to connect young women in the State College area and bring geography to life through creative activities led by graduate and undergraduate students in the Department of Geography.
